Gotland felted wool rug

A medium gotland felted fleece rug with gorgeous brown curls deepening to dark brown with bronze highlights 
First I have to prepare the fleeces with carded batting (fluffy wool) which will create the back of the fleece. Then I have to soak with boiling water and soap, roll tightly and then manipulate back and forth hundreds of times. Unroll resoak, reroll, carry on working it. Eventually the back felts and hopefully the front doesn't!! I then wash the fleece repeatedly till the water runs clean (which takes aaaages!!) and manually pick out any plant material. Over a week of drying and a final fluff up and they're ready to go! 
As these are hand felted they are not as strong as a sheep-skin rug so I would recommend using as chair or bed throws rather than on the floor. There are thinner areas and a couple of small holes that refused to felt 🤪 There may be small pieces of plant material remaining its pretty much impossible to get every single bit out although i have tried! 😅
